Job Description
Momentum Investments is currently offering a 12-month Internship opportunity for graduates looking to gain real-world experience in the financial services and investment industry. This role is based at their head office in Centurion and is designed to build a pipeline of talent for their investment and distribution teams.
As an Investment Intern, you will be integrated into the Momentum Investments division, working alongside seasoned professionals in areas such as Portfolio Management, Investment Administration, and Distribution. The programme focuses on "meaningful exposure," allowing you to move beyond basic administrative tasks to contribute to real business initiatives.
You will gain hands-on experience in collecting and analyzing investment data, supporting the financial planning process, and assisting with client reporting. This rotation-based programme is designed to help you understand the full lifecycle of an investment product—from initial research and pricing to final distribution and client service.
Available Business Areas
Investment Administration: Data handling, reporting, and systems support.
Finance & Accounting: Supporting internal financial controls and audit preparations.
Marketing & Client Services: Managing stakeholder relationships and service level agreements.
Specialized Units: Exposure to Equilibrium (investment distribution) or Multi-Manager teams.
Requirements
To be eligible for this intake, you must meet the following criteria:
Education: * Mandatory: Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics.
Tertiary: A recently completed National Diploma or Degree (NQF 6/7) in Finance, Accounting, Investments, Business Administration, or Marketing.
Certifications: A Financial Markets Diploma or progress toward an RE5/Wealth Management qualification is highly advantageous.
Citizenship: Must be an unemployed South African citizen aged 18–35.
Experience: Must not have previously participated in an INSETA or similar government-funded internship programme.
Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in MS Excel (data analysis) and Word is essential.
