Herotel is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Support Intern to join their dynamic Information Technology team in Plattekloof, South Africa. This 3-month fixed-term internship offers a fantastic opportunity for a tech-savvy student to gain invaluable real-world experience in a fast-paced telecommunications environment. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced IT professionals, providing essential IT support across the business and contributing to the efficiency of the IT service desk. Key Responsibilities
Provide hands-on computer and printer support to business users.
Maintain antivirus software across all company machines to ensure robust system security.
Perform essential backups of critical systems and actively assist with network maintenance tasks.
Configure network devices and set up new laptops and equipment for employees.
Attend to all allocated IT tasks and support tickets, prioritizing them based on urgency and business impact.
Follow up diligently on outstanding tasks to ensure successful completion and obtain sign-off on the QContact system.
Accept and accurately log all technical support emails and calls received by the IT Department.
Support the Service Desk team with various functions including equipment deployment, software installations, inventory management, and printer troubleshooting.

Requirements
Grade 12 (minimum).
Currently studying towards an IT-related Diploma or Degree.
Experience in installing, configuring, and setting up laptops and devices.
Strong computer and application skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and related tools.
Advantageous: Technical certifications such as A+, N+, AZ-900, or AZ-104.
A high sense of integrity, accountability, and commitment to quality work.
Strong work ethic with a collaborative, team-player mindset.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proactive approach to problem determination and resolution.
Keen attention to detail and a genuine willingness to learn.
