Job Description
Sintrex, a leader in end-to-end IT management and infrastructure monitoring, is currently recruiting for its Services Internship Programme. This is a high-intensity, 12-month structured programme designed for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure, systems, and networking.
The Sintrex internship is not a passive learning environment; it is fast-paced and demanding. The programme is divided into four progressive tiers (3 months each), with advancement depending on formal performance evaluations. The ultimate goal is to train interns for permanent placement into junior roles within the company.
Internship Structure (The Four Tiers)
Tier 1: Foundations: Focus on core systems, virtualization, and operational fundamentals.
Tier 2: System Configuration: Deeper Linux administration, security monitoring, and tooling.
Tier 3: Networking & Infrastructure: Infrastructure design, troubleshooting, and analytical problem-solving.
Tier 4: Advanced Operations: Client interaction, business insight, and operational oversight.
Potential Career Path
Successful graduates of the programme may be considered for permanent roles such as:
Services Operator
Junior Systems Administrator
Solutions or Operations Support
Centre of Excellence Team Member
Requirements
To be eligible for this technical internship, applicants should meet the following:
Education: A recognized IT Certificate or Diploma (NQF 5/6+) or a Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
Technical Interest: A strong interest in Linux, Windows Servers, Networking, and System Monitoring.
Attributes: * Inherently curious with a "self-learning" attitude.
Ability to thrive under high-pressure, real-world operational demands.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication (English/Afrikaans).
Location: Must be able to work on-site in Bellville, Cape Town.
