About the Job
The Centre for the AIDS Programme of Research in South Africa (CAPRISA) is seeking to appoint a Human Resources Intern. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates with a qualification in Human Resource Management to gain practical experience within a reputable research organisation. The successful candidate will become an integral part of the CAPRISA HR team, contributing to various HR functions and projects. This role is based at the CAPRISA Head Office in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, and is offered on a 1-year fixed-term contract basis. CAPRISA is committed to developing talent and providing a supportive learning environment for aspiring HR professionals. This internship is designed to offer broad exposure across the HR spectrum, from recruitment to training administration, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
Support the recruitment and selection process, including advertising vacancies, shortlisting candidates, scheduling interviews, and conducting pre-employment screenings.
Assist in maintaining accurate HR records, including data capturing and the preparation of management information reports.
Provide administrative support for general HR functions and assist with payroll-related tasks.
Offer administrative support for the CAPRISA Training programme, which involves scheduling, tracking training sessions, preparing materials, capturing training data, and communicating with stakeholders.
Participate actively in various HR projects and initiatives to gain comprehensive exposure to different HR disciplines.

Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management (or related field)
A good understanding of HR functions and processes
