Graduate Internship: Directors, Members & Practitioners (DMP)
Job Description
The DMP unit is a critical pillar of the CIPC, responsible for the oversight of company leadership and the regulation of business rescue practitioners. As an intern, you will assist in the administration of director and member amendments, ensuring that all corporate changes comply with the Companies Act No. 71 of 2008.
This role provides deep exposure to the Business Rescue regime, a specialized area of South African law designed to rehabilitate companies in financial distress. You will participate in verifying legal documentation, updating the national business registry, and supporting the commission’s research initiatives into corporate governance trends.
Requirements
To be considered for this intake, you must strictly meet the following academic and legal criteria:
Education: A completed Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Commerce, Business Management, Accounting, or Law.
Specific Coursework: You must have successfully completed Corporate Law, Entrepreneurial Law, or Commercial Law at a 2nd-year level or higher.
Advantageous Skills:
Foundational knowledge of the Business Rescue process.
Having completed Research as a formal university subject.
Citizenship: Must be an unemployed South African citizen.
Age: Must be between 18 and 35 years old.
Experience: Must have no prior work experience and must not have participated in a previous internship program.
