Job Description
The Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) β South Africa's dedicated market conduct regulator β is inviting currently enrolled tertiary students to apply for its 2026 Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Internship Programme in Pretoria, Gauteng.
The FSCA is responsible for regulating and supervising the conduct of financial institutions, protecting financial customers, promoting financial education, and ensuring the stability and integrity of South Africa's financial markets. This WIL programme offers students the rare opportunity to complete their compulsory workplace training hours inside one of South Africa's most important regulatory bodies.
As an FSCA WIL intern, you will be placed in a relevant division aligned with your field of study, supported by experienced mentors, and exposed to the practical workings of financial sector regulation β from compliance and consumer protection to market oversight and financial literacy initiatives. This programme is structured to produce career-ready graduates who are equipped to contribute meaningfully to the transformation of South Africa's financial sector.
This is not a permanent position, but outstanding WIL interns gain a significant career advantage when applying for graduate roles in financial services, regulation, and government.
Key Responsibilities
Complete compulsory WIL workplace hours as required by your tertiary institution
Support your assigned FSCA division with research, administration, and project work
Assist with regulatory reporting, data analysis, and documentation
Attend team meetings, workshops, and training sessions
Contribute to consumer protection and financial education initiatives
Produce progress reports as required by your academic institution and FSCA supervisor
Adhere to FSCA's governance standards, confidentiality policies, and workplace conduct requirements
Salary: R5,500 β R6,000 per month (Salary not specified by employer β estimated based on comparable South African government WIL programme stipends, 2026)
Requirements
South African citizen with a valid South African Identity Document (ID)
Currently enrolled in a relevant tertiary qualification (degree or diploma) that requires workplace experience for graduation
Academic records confirming enrolment and WIL requirement from your institution

No prior full-time work experience required
