Job Description
The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) is actively seeking motivated and enthusiastic young individuals to participate in the EPWP Youth Employment Programme 2026. This initiative is designed to equip unemployed youth with invaluable workplace exposure and practical skills, significantly enhancing their employability. Key Responsibilities
Provide support in the development and implementation of reporting tools in adherence to compliance standards, including quality assurance and monitoring processes.
Coordinate and verify project documentation for correctness and completeness.
Maintain an organized and efficient filing system for all project-related documents.
Reconcile project attendance registers, identifying and reporting outstanding or non-compliant documentation to the team leader and project manager.
Assist in analysing verified data and ensure monthly updates of presentations and reporting outputs are accurate.
Support the capturing and completion of monthly Payment Progress Reports (PPR).
Extract verified reporting evidence and compile comprehensive reports from internal platforms (Microsoft Teams) and external systems (DPWI EPWPRS).
Request and monitor the submission of proof of active participants to ensure ongoing compliance.
Update the Status Quo on a weekly basis using validated data to reflect accurate project progress.
Support secretariat functions, including consolidating meeting schedules and following up on key resolutions.
Attend and participate in meetings, assisting with the preparation of action minutes.
Provide administrative support, including the preparation of ad hoc reports and general administrative duties.
Participate in conducting Data Quality Assessments and assist in preparing and consolidating data quality assessment reports.
Facilitate travel arrangements and the submission of travel claims in adherence to departmental policies.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of EPWP reports.
Consolidate and provide team exception reports on data received and captured.
Develop and update the data management tool per project on a monthly basis.

Requirements
A recognized three-year Bachelor’s Degree/National Diploma, or equivalent qualification.
Preference will be given to candidates with Zero to two (0-2) years of experience in a relevant field.
Basic knowledge and understanding of data management and reporting protocols.
Basic understanding of or exposure to EPWP and its relationship with national, provincial, and municipal government.
Basic organisational and coordination skills.
Basic stakeholder management, facilitation, and understanding of government planning processes.
Sound organising and planning skills.
Basic communication (good verbal and written communication skills) and interpersonal relations skills.
Computer literacy and operation of all Microsoft packages.
Willingness to work long hours and under pressure, and to travel (as may be required) will be added advantages.
