Job Description
Dis-Chem is seeking a reputable Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant to join their Western Road team. Your primary responsibility will be to address patients' medicine-related needs and ensure exceptional service delivery. You will assist in the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions, manage chronic medication authorizations, and maintain accurate patient profiles on the system.
Operational duties include assisting with the manufacturing and re-packaging of non-sterile medicines, managing dispensary stock levels using FEFO (First Expired, First Out) principles, and providing professional advice to patients at the self-medication and front-shop counters. You will also play a key role in administrative accuracy, ensuring all claims are correctly submitted to medical aids and that stock take procedures are followed strictly.
Requirements
Education: Grade 12 (Matric) with a Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification.
Professional Registration: Must be currently registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
Technical Skills: * Proven experience working on the Unisolv system is a mandatory requirement.
Computer literacy (MS Office).
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Language: Proficiency in English (Read, Write, Speak) and a second official language.
Experience: Previous retail pharmacy experience is essential; knowledge of FMCG operations or E-Scripting is advantageous.
Attributes: High attention to detail, strong customer orientation, and the ability to work under pressure within a retail schedule.
