This 1 to 2-year structured development programme is your launchpad into a high-impact career at Caterpillar — one of the world's most iconic and respected global brands. You will gain immersive, hands-on exposure to Caterpillar's products, services, and dealer network across the Europe, Africa, Middle East, and Central Asia (EAME & CIS) region — developing the commercial, technical, and leadership skills needed to step into a field-based role as a Cat® Dealer-facing Field Representative upon graduation from the programme.
This is ideal for graduates within the first three years of their career who are passionate about technology, sustainability, business strategy, and solving real-world customer challenges in the mining, construction, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
Programme Structure
Phase 1 — Cohort Training (First 3 Months):
Immersive onboarding and learning experience alongside a global cohort of peers
Deep dive into Caterpillar products, services, and industry strategies
Build influential communication and leadership skills
Connect with a global network of peers and mentors
Travel across the EAME & CIS region visiting Cat® Dealers
Phase 2 — On-the-Job Rotations (Months 4–24):
Rotate across departments including Product Support, Marketing, Strategy, Sales, and Digital Solutions
Work directly with Cat® Dealers and customers on live field projects
Receive ongoing mentorship from experienced Caterpillar professionals
Solve real business challenges with direct impact on Caterpillar's EAME operations
Phase 3 — Field Representative Placement: Upon graduating from the programme, you step directly into a field-based Field Representative role — either as an Industry Sales Representative or Product Support Representative, responsible for driving sales, revenue, and aftermarket solutions for Cat® Dealers and their end customers.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with Cat® Dealers to support, market, and sell machines, engines, and aftermarket solutions
Drive revenue and growth for aftermarket solutions in line with industry strategy
Provide product and technical expertise to dealers and customers throughout the sales cycle
Analyse dealer and customer performance data to identify opportunities and risks
Represent Caterpillar professionally at customer and dealer engagement events across the region
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, and strategy teams
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Commerce, Economics, or a related field
0–3 years of relevant professional experience (internships or academic projects count)
South African citizen or holder of a valid work authorisation in South Africa
Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
High commercial acumen and analytical thinking ability
Experience supporting or leading small projects (university, internship, or extracurricular)
Demonstrated interest in technology, sustainability, and solving complex business challenges
