Job Description
Cape Town Tourism β South Africa's leading Destination Experience Organisation (DXO) dedicated to improving the lives of Capetonians through sustainable tourism β is looking for a curious and innovative IT Graduate to join their Tech & Digital Transformation team in Cape Town.
This is a unique, hands-on 12-month internship for a recent IT graduate who is passionate about AI, automation, and emerging technology. You will work directly alongside the Tech & Digital Transformation Manager β experimenting with cutting-edge tools, building automation pilots, and contributing to real innovation projects that directly improve how Cape Town Tourism operates.
Unlike typical admin-heavy graduate roles, this internship is built around exploration and practical delivery β you will be trusted to test ideas, prototype solutions, and deliver tangible digital outcomes that improve business processes across the organisation. You will work with a mix of low-code, no-code, and entry-level technical tools, with coding experience beneficial but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities
Explore and identify ways technology can improve internal processes across the organisation
Support workflow automation projects and digital innovation initiatives
Use modern AI tools and automation platforms to solve real business challenges
Collaborate with teams across Cape Town Tourism to understand their needs and design practical digital solutions
Work with low-code, no-code, and entry-level technical tools to build and test solutions
Apply responsible, secure, and ethical use of digital and AI tools in line with organisational standards and data protection policies
Document projects, produce demos, and create handover notes to ensure project continuity
What Success Looks Like
Contribute to 1β2 live digital, automation, or AI innovation pilots during the 12-month programme
Demonstrate the ability to translate real business needs into practical digital solutions
Produce clear documentation, demos, or handover notes to support ongoing project use
Show consistent learning, accountability, and progression through regular mentorship check-ins
Requirements
Recent graduate with a Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related IT field
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
Genuine curiosity about AI, automation, and emerging technologies
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Willingness to learn, experiment, and take initiative
Coding experience is beneficial but not mandatory β low-code/no-code enthusiasm is equally valued
