Cape Town Tourism β South Africa's leading Destination Marketing and Management Organisation (DXO) β is looking for a curious and analytical Data & Research Graduate to join their Destination & Business Intelligence team in Cape Town, Western Cape.
Cape Town Tourism plays a central role in positioning Cape Town as a world-class global destination β driving visitor demand, supporting member businesses, and advocating for sustainable tourism that uplifts the city and its communities. Their Business Intelligence team is at the heart of this mission, using data, research, and digital tools to track tourism performance and guide strategic decisions.
As a Data & Research Graduate, you will support the team in analysing real tourism datasets, preparing research reports and stakeholder insights, maintaining performance dashboards, and helping manage a tourism intelligence website that shares industry data and reports with key stakeholders across the sector.
This is a rare opportunity for a quantitative graduate to build hands-on experience in data analytics, research, and digital intelligence inside a globally recognised tourism organisation β working on projects that directly shape how Cape Town attracts visitors and measures its impact.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with collecting, cleaning, and analysing tourism data from multiple sources
Support the preparation of research reports, data summaries, and stakeholder insights
Help maintain dashboards and digital reporting tools used by the research team
Assist with basic data modelling and tourism performance forecasting
Support the maintenance and ongoing development of the tourism intelligence website
Provide general research and data support to the Destination & Business Intelligence team as required
Requirements
Recently completed Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Actuarial Science, or a similar analytical field
Strong analytical and numerical skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Exposure to coding, programming, or data analysis tools is advantageous (Python, R, SQL, Power BI, Tableau)
Genuine interest in working with data, analytics, and digital tools
