Who Should Apply
This bursary is open to South African citizens who are currently in Matric or have completed it. Applicants must be intending to study or currently be studying towards a first undergraduate or Honours degree or diploma on a full-time basis at a recognised and accredited public university or university of technology in South Africa. The fields of study are limited to Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), and Green Economy skills. A strong academic record is essential, with a minimum overall average of 65% for the 2026 academic year and for subjects aligned to the chosen qualification. Applicants must have passed Mathematics (not Mathematics Literacy) in Matric and demonstrate proven financial need. Consent from a parent or legal guardian is required for applicants under 18.

Requirements
Must be a South African citizen
Must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
Must be studying or intend on studying towards your first undergraduate or Honours degree or diploma in 2027, which focuses on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and Green Economy skills
Must be studying or have been accepted to study full-time at a recognised and accredited public University or University of Technology in South Africa
Must have a strong academic record
Must have passed Mathematics in Matric (NOT Mathematics Literacy)
Must have achieved a minimum overall average of 65% for the 2026 academic year (at Matric or University level)
Must have achieved a minimum overall average of 65% for all subjects that are aligned to your University qualification
Must have proven financial need (to be determined by household income)
Must have consent from your parent or legal guardian to apply for the bursary, if you are under 18 years old
