Requirements
South African citizenship
Currently in Grade 12, taking a gap year after Grade 12, or in the first year of university
Minimum of 60% in all subjects for Grade 12 applicants, with a minimum of 70% in Mathematics (not Maths Literacy) and 70% in English FAL or 65% in English HL.
First-year university students must have averaged above 60% in their first semester examinations.
Applicants in STEM degrees must have obtained a minimum of 60% in each subject in their first semester examination.
Must apply timeously for admission to the educational institution of choice.
Must clearly specify the exact degree programme, the name of the educational institution, and the year of study in the application form.
Changing degree programme after application submission may lead to cancellation of the bursary.
No bursaries are available for private tertiary institutions.
