• Applicants must either be currently in Matric or have already completed Matric.
• Must be studying or intend to study full-time towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the approved fields at a recognised and accredited public institution in South Africa (university, university of technology, or TVET college).
• Current university students must have achieved at least 60% overall average for the 2026 academic year.
• Current TVET college students must have achieved at least 50% overall average for the 2026 academic year.
• Applicants must demonstrate financial need, with a total household income not exceeding R180,000 per year.
• Successful applicants must agree to enter into a contractual agreement with the municipality.
• Submit a completed bursary application form.
• Submit certified identification.
• Submit academic records (Grade 11 final results and latest Matric results for current Matriculants; Matric certificate for those who completed Matric; most recent academic record on institution's letterhead for current students).
• Submit proof of household income.
• Submit proof of residence within the Nkangala District Municipality area.
• Submit proof of acceptance at a tertiary institution (if available).
• Submit a motivational letter supporting the application.
