Requirements
- Grade 12 applicants must have a Bachelor’s Pass with a minimum average of 65% or above.
- Tertiary-level applicants must have an academic average of 65% or above for the latest full academic years, including 2025 and 2026 results so far.
- This opportunity is not open to students studying towards the following qualification levels: N4, N5, N6, Higher Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Master’s Degree, Doctoral Degree.
- The bursary is also not open to students studying at: TVET Colleges, Community Colleges, Graduate Schools, Business Schools, Distance-learning institutions such as UNISA.
- Preference may be given to candidates who align with the sponsor’s transformation and employment equity objectives.
- Preference may also be given to applicants who are on track to complete their qualification within the minimum required time and are not on N+1 or higher.
- The bursary is renewable annually, dependent on academic performance, student engagement, and available sponsor budgets.
- Successful bursary recipients will be required to work back for every year of funding provided by Capitec.
- If a bursary recipient does not complete the work-back obligation, they may be required to refund the value of the bursary benefits received, plus interest charged at the prime rate.
- Applicants and bursary recipients must provide accurate and truthful information.
- If an applicant or awardee is later found not to be studying full-time or to have undisclosed paid employment, their bursary contract or offer may be terminated, and they may be required to refund all bursary benefits paid to them.
- Required Documents: Certified copy of South African ID, Latest academic results, Grade 12 results (if already completed), Proof of registration or acceptance (where applicable), Full academic record for tertiary students, Any additional documents required on the Capitec bursary application portal.
