About the Job
The CAPACITI - Service Desk Academy in Cape Town is designed to equip aspiring technologists with essential digital capabilities for the evolving tech landscape. This full-time, 12-month learnership program aims to train candidates to become proficient Junior First Line Analysts for Service Desks. Successful participants will gain the skills to effectively log tickets and requests, serving as a primary point of contact for all applications, infrastructure, and third-party related issues. CAPACITI is committed to bridging the gap between foundational IT knowledge and specialized, industry-ready skills, aligning with global and local workforce demands. Trainees will be empowered to provide technical assistance and take full responsibility for progressing each logged ticket within Ticket Management Systems, ensuring regular updates are provided to end-users.
Key Responsibilities
Log and manage IT support tickets and requests accurately.
Act as the first point of contact for users experiencing application, infrastructure, or third-party issues.
Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for first-line support incidents.
Progress tickets through the resolution process using Ticket Management Systems.
Communicate effectively with end-users, providing regular updates on ticket status.
Adhere to industry-standard tools and practices in a fast-paced learning environment.
Collaborate with team members and mentors to resolve technical challenges.
Maintain a strong service-oriented attitude and commitment to learning.

Requirements
South African citizen.
Aged between 18 and 34 years old.
Minimum NQF Level 4 qualification or equivalent.
Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office) and understanding of IT concepts (hardware, software, networking).
Clear communication skills, both verbal and written in English.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
No criminal record and a clear credit history.
Must be unemployed at the time of application.
Ability to commit to full-time attendance (Monday to Friday, 08:00β17:00) for the entire 12-month academy.
Access to reliable internet for remote sessions.
A strong service-oriented mindset and willingness to learn.
