Job Description
South African National Parks (SANParks), South Africa's leading conservation authority managing over 3.7 million hectares of protected land across 20 national parks β including Kruger, Garden Route, Table Mountain, Addo Elephant, and Groenkloof β is inviting unemployed South African graduates to apply for its 2026 Graduate Internship Programme.
Operating under the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act (Act 57 of 2003), SANParks is one of the country's most respected public institutions, responsible for biodiversity conservation, sustainable tourism, scientific research, and environmental stewardship on a national scale.
This structured 24-month internship programme offers graduates practical workplace exposure across multiple disciplines within SANParks' operational, scientific, and corporate divisions β from conservation management and environmental science to ICT, finance, communications, law, supply chain, and social sciences. Interns are placed in real working environments and supported by experienced professionals throughout the programme.
SANParks is under no obligation to offer permanent employment upon completion of the internship. Applicants who apply for positions outside their area of residence must arrange their own accommodation and transport.

Stipend: R6,355.69 β R9,088.37 per month (depending on NQF level of qualification)

Requirements
South African citizen aged 18 to 35 years
Currently unemployed
Completed National Diploma (NQF Level 6), Bachelor's Degree (NQF Level 7), or Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) in a relevant qualifying field from a recognised South African Public Higher Education Institution
Has not previously been employed in a formal position, nor participated in any internship or placement programme
Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by SAQA before applying
Must be available for assessment and selection interviews at a date, time, and place determined by SANParks
