Job Description
The City of Johannesburg (CoJ), Human Settlements Department is offering valuable internship opportunities to suitably qualified and unemployed graduates. These internships are designed to provide practical, developmental-level professional administrative work experience within the Executive Director's Office. The program aims to support the Business Management Directorate by engaging interns in day-to-day operations, including general office administration, monitoring and evaluation, risk management, regulatory compliance, HR functions, and strategic planning support. Interns will contribute to the development of key documents such as the Business Plan, Quarterly Reports, and strategic planning concept notes, gaining comprehensive exposure to municipal governance and administrative processes. The internship duration is a fixed 18-month contract, offering a structured learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Render developmental-level professional administrative and support services within the Business Management Directorate.
Support the planning and implementation of Human Settlements programs within the designated region.
Assist with essential administrative duties, including accurate data entry, organized filing systems, and efficient mail handling.
Provide support for event planning, setup, and execution, encompassing logistics, marketing coordination, and operational assistance.
Contribute to marketing and promotional efforts by assisting with the creation of social media flyers and other relevant materials.
Deliver excellent customer service by responding promptly to queries and effectively resolving issues in line with service delivery standards.

Requirements
A Matric/Grade 12 Certificate.
A National Diploma or Degree (NQF level 6/7) in Business Management, Business Administration, Journalism, Media, Public Administration, or Public Management.
No prior experience is required.
