Job Description
South African National Parks (SANParks) is seeking a dedicated Driver to join their team at Mountain Zebra National Park. This role reports directly to the Hospitality Services Manager, and the successful candidate will reside within the park. The Driver will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of SANParks vehicles, providing transport services for staff and visitors, and maintaining vehicle roadworthiness. The position requires adherence to strict safety regulations and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations and SANParks Fleet Management SOP.
Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any safety defects.
Operate SANParks vehicles in compliance with the National Road Traffic Act and held permits.
Provide general driving services, including chauffeur duties for SANParks staff when required.
Ensure vehicles are kept clean, presentable, and roadworthy at all times.
Report all vehicle defects, incidents, or accidents promptly to the supervisor.
Maintain daily control over fuel and oil stock levels for assigned vehicles.
Transport school-going children and staff members safely.
Ensure accurate completion of driver log sheets, trip permits, and mileage records.
Conduct annual maintenance schedules and monthly inspections of vehicles.
Perform general administration tasks related to the role.
Provide professional and reliable service to all internal and external customers.
Share general information about the Park with visitors.
Perform General Worker Duties as required.
Undertake ad-hoc duties as assigned by management.

Requirements
Grade 12 qualification.
A valid driver’s license with a Professional Permit to transport People (PDP).
Occupational Health and Safety experience.
Two (2) years’ work experience as a professional Messenger/Driver.
First Aid Training certification.
