Data Analyst Intern: Stryker South Africa

Stryker, a global leader in medical technology, is currently seeking a Data Analyst Intern to support their EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) growth strategy. This role is ideal for highly analytical graduates looking to bridge the gap between complex data and real-world commercial insights within the healthcare sector.

As a Data Analyst Intern, you will be part of the Center of Excellence (COE) Analytics team. Your mission is to move the business from "searching and cleaning data" to "acting on insights." You will translate raw sales and product data into actionable foresights that help commercial teams make faster, fact-based decisions.

Your daily tasks will include building and improving SQL queries, creating interactive Power BI dashboards, and automating manual reporting processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including commercial analysts and senior management, providing you with a high-level view of how a global medical device company operates.

Stipend: Competitive Market-Related Stipend (Research indicates Stryker internships typically offer between R12,000 – R18,000 per month in South Africa, depending on the specific division and level of education).

To be successful in this application, you should meet the following technical and academic criteria:

• Education: Preferably a recent graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or Business Administration.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in at least one of the following is essential:

  • SQL (Query building and database management).

  • Python (Data manipulation and automation).

  • Power BI / DAX (Dashboard creation and data modeling).

• Data Literacy: A solid understanding of Data Governance concepts (definitions, lineage, and calculations).

• Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to translate technical findings for non-technical stakeholders.

• Nationality: Preferably a South African Citizen
